i used to smoke marlboro's when eddie was racing.

then i started smoking rothmans cause doohan & gardner smoke em. had nothing to do with the world championships they won.

of course i drank copious amounts of pepsi, which of course is NOT bad for you despite the 22 tea spoons of suger & the effect it has on infant brains & immune systems...

& no im back somkin marlboro again.

There is always someone complaining about something isn't there.

I think advertising is overated, seeing stickers with adds doesn't make me buy any of their shit and for most people it won't, i just see it as a tool of making the brand known, the more there is the more reputation.

Anyway my point is that adds don't really make people buy the product but just gives them a preference when they are in the ''market''. Or maybe that is just me.

Yea nothing wrong with advertising smoke, people (and kids) should be strong enough to make they own decisions. A lot of my mates smoke but i don't... so if someone smokes because they are following casey stoners bike adds, then you kid... are officially a fucktard,

i think its idiotic that they're targeting Stoner, but i also think its appaling that cigarette advertising is still allowed in some countries. I battled with those cunts for over 18years before finally kicking it, and hate everything about them and the companies that push them.

And i do think that some young kids ARE that dumb that they'll think cigs are cool coz they're advertised on motorbikes. Sad but true. Phillip Morris' Marketing Dept aren't idiots either

So why are we protecting them from illegally smoking but not illegally riding? Motorbikes themselves aren't censored y'know... (yet)

Okay…. I picked up the latest AMCN today. It has a little story with the headline “ Stoner labelled drug pusher “ because of said Marlboro sponsorship. Chris V. is alright though cos they only have a problem with tobacco !

Anyway, I flick through a few pages and what do I find ?

An ad ….” Woodstock Bourbon, Official sponsor of the Australian Moto GP “

So my question is: What is the difference ?

Here we have a campaign complaining about Stoner “advertising “ cigarettes with his bar-coded Ducati …meanwhile every ten minutes we’re going to see an ad for Woodstock on the tele while the race is running. ( speed and alcohol anyone ? )

So in an age of so-called underage binge drinking I cant help but quote Maude Flanders and say “ Won’t someone think of the children “.

What are the odds… some kid watching the race is going to say Dad, get me a Marlboro ! Or… Hey Dad, I’m thirsty…crack us a woody !

My point ? Complain about everything, or complain about nothing… don’t pick and choose to suit yourself.

If they didn’t want the young Australian of the year to be associated with smoking, they should’ve spoken up earlier. I say leave the kid alone and let him ride his bike.
