I'm 6"6 and was hoping to find a sports bike or similar of some kind that I wouldn't look like I'm riding a peewee 50. I currently ride an M109R but thinking a change may be in order.
Any suggestions at all?

I'm out there Jerry and loving EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!
Hyabusa?

hyosung gt250r. People always bleat on about how it's cool because it has a full size frame.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.
Buy my stuff, everything now half price - http://www.perthstreetbikes.com/foru...woofer-144818/
Hayabusa or ZX-14, I really felt small on those bikes, they should do.
Most 600's / 1000's will probably still be suitable - go try some and find out! remember you can also buy aftermarket rearsets to give you a bit of extra legroom if needed.
Something nekkid will have more open ergos to accommodate your longer limbs. Speed triple etc.
Gutsy question. You're a shark. Sharks are winners, and they don't look back because they have no necks. Necks are for sheep.

Do you want a faired sports bike, or just something with more ponies?
CBR1000RR seems to suit those of taller stature. I wouldn't recommend the "hypersports" if you're looking for an actual sports bike. They're more about straight line and comfort. If you're not worried about fairings, Speed Triple R and the new Aprilia might be the go.

I'm your height and ride an RC8 on the street - lithe, grunty and sweet steering. Plenty of adjustments including 'bars, pegs and subframe (seat) height. Decent fuel economy, average gearbox, polarising looks.
Last bike was a ZX14; bulky, FAST and reasonable in the twisties. Did i say FAST? the '14 reeled in Eye Abusers like they were stuck in third. I got sick of doing +300 everywhere and went back to apex hunting.
Other contenders include VTR1000; VFR800; VFR1200, K1300S, K1300R, SpeedTrip, Sprint... just go ride a few and you'll fall for something... good luck.

You only live once, but live right and once is enough

The answer to this question is simple. Tiger 1050 You will forget that 109 even existed
Ducati hypermotardI'm 6'4 have previously owned cruisers and love mine, you can sit upright and pootle along or lean forward and get into it with your knee out or your foot out tard style, much more flexibility in riding position than a dedicated sports bike, I think Ruben Xaus is about your height check out his video on YouTube from the model launch circa 07 for possible shenanigans
edit: he's only 6' but looks heaps taller on anything else he rides because he's so skinny/lanky at around 75kg

i wouldnt recommend sports
i'm only 6' and the busa is a perfect match
any taller and i would have to raise the bars, lower the pegs and i still be hunched over it
Get a cruiser
Any man that trades freedom for security deserves neither and will lose both......

the tiger and the multistrada are good as are the zx14

I disagree. Although a naked/hypersport/tourer would be more spacious it depends on personal preference. I am 6'4" and ride a 98 R1 with no issues. The smallest bike I have ridden (and am using as a track bike at the moment) is an RGV and that becomes a bit uncomfortable after about an hour or so.
IMO decide what type of bike you want first (naked/hypersport/sports/tourer), then try sitting on and/or test riding a bunch of them to see which one suits you best.
this makes sense tooi have an old 916 ducati that i love to ride but only an hour or two at a time, if you're touring the countryside then you may want something big and spacious, but if you're just buzzing the backroads with with friends then something compact might be just fine.
buy and ride what you love, as long as it doesn't cripple you within the time you intend to spend on it.
even if it does just buy another bike for those tripshow it feels is more important than how you look on it.

me 6 feet
Hayabusa felt small - needed rearset change
ZX14 fit me like a glove
Its all good.

Im 6'5, and waaaaay over 100kg, ZX14 is my match in heaven. Ride all day no issues (except my current facet joint sprain) It has sports tourer type ergos that basically become sports ergos for us taller dudes. Very capable in twisties for someone built for it. Very comfortable, no weight on wrists (again for us taller folk who have no issue with reach from seat)
Current Gen 2 Hayabusa is a little more compact... still a big machine... mainly noticed weight on wrists as biggest difference in ergos. And yeah seat was tad lower to pegs = more knee bend.. didnt worry me too much as im still young... Spook would be close to 6'4 and is very happy on his Gen1 Busa.
And Sprints other recommendations are spot on... them BMW K1300S and the naked K1300R are very comfy large bikes too. I havent tried the RC8r but if he says so id believe it (But he is a twig... a very tall twig).
Theyre the most sporty options, then you go to more dedicated sports tourers mentioned, like Triumph Sprint ST (now GT) Honda VFR1200, Maybe a Suzuki Bandit 1250F as a cheaper option, and yeah Ducati Multistrada as a more touring option. Havent tried a rocket 3 but even cruiser guys reckon theyre overweight pigs.... that oink along like fuck tho.
When the only tool you have is a hammer, every thing starts to look like a nail

Ryvven, your Versys comment made me chuckle, but the hypersports bikes arent all about comfort and straight lines... very capable machines when you learn to handle em. Can still get a knee down on them. Granted difficult for smaller guys, just like its dificult for me to ride an r6 etc.

just remembered this link Motorcycle Ergonomics
you can see how things measure up on each bike before doing the legwork to go sit on them all
