How Much and how bad is it?

I just finished rebuilding mine. Had crown separation on the piston.

    So............
New forged 535 hi comp piston
    Rebore the iron barrell
New Forged rod with matching roller bearing(tossed the floating bush)
but while your in there you may as well
Replace the head bolts with english ones (indian ones stretch)
change the valve seats to unleaded ones
Change oil pumps to hi cap ones
put in samrat rockers (less reciprocating mass)
Stiffer springs for the clutch so it doesn't drag with all the EXTRA power.
    Rejet carby

Then when you've done all that, up the final drive to a 20 toother from the 17 and you'll have a REliable enfield that will do 110 kph comfortably.

They maybe slow but great to ride.

Why go for an immo from papadan land?
There are original ones out there as the people who grew up with these bikes are getting sadly to old, so they starting to appear back on the market.

    Mmmmm, racism...tasty!

Why go for an Indian one? I don't know, maybe because they've been made there for the last 50 years and are much more available and not all completely covered in rust like most English built ones are likely to be.

And barfy, heard a lot of baaaad things about Bullet sidecars, I'd steer clear. And just imagine the performance drop on an already non-performance bike

I might be a "Racist" but You would not know shit from clay!
The English made bikes are treasured and the real deal, this Indian made stuff is made out of recycked pizzpot steel mixed with dromedaris turds!
That is why the head bolts "stretch"; shit steel!
Sheffield steel does not do that!
Get a real one and reap the benefits!

Richy,....................... whack this post matey, T'zz got racist undertones and is slight humor, how 's the uniform and hat?
