    Scam for sellers

Here is a scam i was sent via email through an add that i have on bikesales.
Not exactly sure how they would succeed in the scam using PAYPAL but i checked with Bikesales and they said not to reply.

Note: Poor spelling and the fact he left his mobile number a digit short.

Does anyone know how they execute this scam and actually succeed because i thought buyers and sellers are protected through Paypal?

    Bad grammar and punctuation? Check.

    Lame story? Check.

    Unusual payment demands? Check.

    Smells like bullshit!

Shouldn't you ask for the money to be in your bank, cleared and away before his pick up agent arrives?

Yeah that makes a bit more sense. I was looking from the wrong angle i was trying to work out how they were going to steal my bike. I did not think about the bank details and that side of things. You would have to be fairly stupid to let it get far enough that they succeeded in scamming you.

as long as you have the bike then you have nothing to lose until the money is in your account! if you think there is a chance it could be for real then enquire further. just cover yourself! otherwise just walk away.
