No instructor available?? Usually best to get the last minute instruction before the test, even though it is early, they still take you out before the test. I spose it would only work if you have used them while you have been learning, but you never know, someone might have a free spot.

I would also recommend a quick lesson before hand to brush up and get comphy, otherwise I am free to shadow if you need. PM me if you need.

    Oh whoops sorry I forgot!

Please could I get a shadow if anyone is free.

Haven't done lessons on the bigger bike so can't get them to take me. Just need a little work on the o-turns i think. See if anyone picks up on anything on the pizza ride, then I could reschedule with a lesson or two to freshen up on. Just thought I'll try wing it first heh.

No I don't think I'm pro, I havn't been riding for long only got my R-E in 08. But for the practical assensment as far as road positioning, awearness and the exercises they go through, I think I have a fair chance of passing.

But yeah i'll call up some places see if they can fit me in for a lesson or so before as its still a month away.

For RE yes, but R class is exactly the same stuff so I would think most people have an idea of whether they can pass or not.

I do recommend lessons though, I just looked at it as a chance to brush up and get rid of any bad habits. I found I learnt more in my R class lessons because he taught me extra stuff since I already knew the basics.
Once you do your R class, a lot of riders never receive any sort of training or instruction again.

Just to play devils advocate, I didn't do any formal rider training before my R class. I practiced O-turns in Stoney's driveway and that was about all the prep I did.
We are small and exposed, and probably moving too fast for our own good, but that's no reason not to enjoy every minute of the ride.

Since '08' they have changed what they do whilst they access you.
I sat my r-e back in 08 aswell and sat my r class last month. I thought I would be ready as far as road craft, e brakes and o turns go, but I got a few refresher lessons beforehand to brush up on some things. Very glad I did because the instructor picked a few things I would have failed on straight away.

So yeh I can't shadow yet either. Good luck with the test and sorting a shadow.

Thanks all, ended up organising a lesson this sat, see what bad habits I picked up.

Was also able to book one before my test if I need it and don't get a shadow.

Had my lesson today, he said my general riding was pretty good, was happy with my o-turns and brake test after a few times (just getting use to the bike, locked rear on first brake test and was looking over too much at the start of my o-turns). Only comments he has were on some stupid mistakes (stopped to close to car at lights, too close to kerb on hill park, crossed a solid line going into slip lane lol..). So on the day game face and concentrate should be right.

I think I will take that lesson before the test just to quickly run through everything again and the o-turns felt a lot easier than on the striple.

Thanks for the offer potato and cheers for suggesting lessons, pointed out some bad habits and was a good refresh.

Sat morning a mate wanted to go to the cars + coffee thing Antilag does, after that should be free. Going out Sat night so will be hating life all of Sunday.

I'm not the best for picking a route to go, every time I went for a ride with a mate he always lead hah. But if I know where I'm going should be fine.
