Out riding today from job to job (beats caging it) and whilst pootling along Roe highway in the outside lane the car in the left hand lane decided that it wanted my bit o tarmac. Well imagine my surprise when the guy driving not only used his mirrors BUT ALSO looked over his shoulder, saw me, let me pass, & then moved into the right lane.

Just had to pull over to recover from the shock

Well I bin ridin 30+ years, of & on, & its the first time I can recall this actually happening.

So peeps, just be aware, there is 1 guy out there in a cage that sorta knows what he's doin, pity about the rest.
.. and thats Racer # 193 to y'all; my fabulous sponsors (who all do good shit) are: Graeme Fleming IT Consultants, Vision Image, Pacific Safety Wear, Excess Power Equipment, Pro Photo Booth, Canning Vale Travel, Gryphon Garage Doors

.. and according to Sean'o: 'get the Kwaka (never thought i would say that!)'

I'd have to agree with you on the headchecks. Its bullshit how people rely on their mirrors. Hell on the way to curtin a parking inspector on his sherpa wouldn't even headcheck before moving into my lane. Instead, he was wildly moving his head around trying to check every angle in his little saucer mirror, I gave him room and then waved the ok for him to change. I was kicking myself for being so curteous... barstard gave me a ticket on the 1st week back from hols... GRR

Haha Desmo, your a man of few words!

    Make that 2.

I was out and about today, went through the round-about next to hillaries boat harbour, heading south bound. Get off the round-about and it forms one lane.... and this lady in a commodore saw me and waved me through (i was content to just let her go first as I was just cruising down the coast ).

I've only been riding 3 months heh.

I reckon you've hit the nail on the head there... bike riders taking their cages to work because they have to...

Yup, they're riders themselves....no other option.

Whatever, it's good to see. Maybe it will catch on?

similar experience this am....i going straight ahead into a roundabout, car going the other way is turning right in front of me, he actually slowed down anticipating i might try to go thru in front of him, when i stopped and let him thru, he gave me nice little wave. wow
plus, someone moved haslfway across their lane yesterday to let me thru at the lights. fan-fuggin-tastic!

Whilst being ferried around in a cage the other day by a fellow rider, I noticed how much attention she was paying to the road, mirrors, headchecks, the lot. I mentioned this to her, and she said she didn't even realise she was doing it. Awesome.
This got me thinking about how much I look when I'm driving a cage. Probably the same amount I do when I'm riding.
So yeah +1 on it being a biker.

    WTF?

    I've seen you drive.

    Sure, you might see 'em.

But the chances of pulling that falcon up in time not to hit them is a different story.
(Falcon <> (does not equal) Fiesta)

Goofy, maybe some big arsed Brembos are in order?!

over the last few months ive yelled at my friends gf and my gf telling them to take the time to look over there shoulder to check if someone, it could be a car, bike or truck, is there. This came about because of them telling me they nearly turned into a bike or scooter rider and i told them id boot the car if they did that to me, the gf then told me she wouldnt come and visit me or look after me if i was in jail for doing so.... wanna know my comeback to that???? i said "babe u dont go to jail for kicking a car you go to jail for running over a bike rider and killing them" you would be amazed at how quickly ppl shut up when then relize they could kill someone, i think i got my message across to a few ppl now
