Some one give me a summary... whats going on now?

Cos I'll be screwed if I'm going to read through 270+ posts to a follow up thread of eleventy billion posts, while I have 6 beers going through my system.

And that Cit'D, Desmo etc, is how you troll without going low-brow.
Seriously though, when I posted the idea of "PSB Pillion" for those that don't chip in I wasn't sure how the suggestion would go, but I was pretty sure someone would get their knickers in a twist.
Thanks to those who agreed.
But I didn't expect quite that respose. Although I have been giggling about it most of the day.
I've never know a pillion to be such derogatory term.
Who has ever had a pillion that after a ride went "That was great, here's a few bucks?
Anyone? Doubt it. I can't image it would have bothered anyone that they didn't chip in either.
Although when they put out, that's mint. Can't put a price on that…..wait….yeah yes you can.
Most people don't realise the time/effort/money that goes into things until they give it a go.
That goes for forums/events/charity/calenders/groupbuys/photography et al.
It's not like people were given the title "PSB Freeloadin fuggin c**nts".
Coz that's not how they are viewed as has been covered in other posts.
I'm a member of serveral other forums, some I chip in to, some I don't.
I have no qualms calling a spade a spade as I did.
Futher to that Tyson/Deej/Hewie harded the f**k up and put the tags back.

go Desmo!!

my 2c - PSB is fun......
without PSB techmical knowlege my bike would be broken,
without PSB my days at work would be very boring,
without PSB i would not have met some very interesting people.

hence! i feel i should give PSB somnething back in return. In this case it is money. $25 aint gonna kill me. ive got so much back in return. if you dont support - fair enough its your decicion. if you do support - you feel like me.... swings and roundabouts people - you know how it works

Simply put tlad - Yes we want opinions that are not ours but if your going to voice an opinion its nice if you read the thread so you know where things are at rather than wading in uninformed.

Yesterday Deej asked forum members for input on the new tags as we were trying to make them more motorcycle related instead of the standard silver/gold/platinum ones EVERY other forum on the face of the earth has. People made suggestions and one appeared to be the most popular with other members so we decided to give it a go.

So today Deej and Tys spent the day making the changes. Deej openly stated that the tags were only temporary and that he would work on them tonight.

Now as soon as they do make the changes .. dozens of up until now silent people decide to make themselves heard in a less than flattering manner.

So .. Deej and Tys then go through the process of putting BACK a watered down version of the original tags.

Now had you read the thread you would have realised that:

1. The phrases were originally the idea of a member NOT the staff .... the staff asked the members for ideas.

2. They appeared to be the most popular with other members based on the posts in the beginning of the thread so went with them

3. People decided they didn't like them already so they have ALREADY been removed.

4. The staff have had enough abuse an crap for one day.

For all I care you can change my Supporter tag to "FUCKTARD" if you feel. Really who gives a shit. I paid my $29 to give a little back, not to crack a fucking boner over a tag. Some forums won't even allow you to have an individual avatar let alone do half the shit PSB does for us and the community at large.

If one member gives you advice on how to fix an issue on your bike yourself, gives you a heads up on where to get a part at a competitive price or even helps ya pick up ya mangled wreck off the deck and gets you home, you are already ahead. The beauty of it is you don't have to pay to get advice, an engaging conversation or any of these things plus more. But it does help a little.

Deej I had no idea there was only 149 of us supporters. That's like 3% of members.

P.S Will I be notified when my subscription is up for renewal?

^^ Couldn't have said it better myself Tornado, I will very shortly be paying for my Supporter membership as I believe this is the best motorcycle community forum in Australia if not the world.

The guys like Deej, Hewie, Dubs and Rooster put a hell of a lot of time and effort in giving us a world class service and should be applauded for this instead of ridiculed for trying to make it better, Guys keep it up.

I agree, 149 supporters is not a lot for the amount of member's on the forum

I honestly thought that there would be a much greater amount of members that would also be supporters, and was under the uninformed assumption that it would cost far more than it does!!

My decision to become a supporter has nothing to do with this thread, it's concerning what I feel I have gained from PSB, and my resolution to give a small amount of support back, financial or otherwise (Thanks Dubs!)

^^^WHS^^^ but I still prefer the current font!

Altruistic behaviour is a rarity these days, and yet it is found in abundance within the members of this community.
PSB has a lot to be proud of.

I don't know a lot of you personally, but we obviously have great staff who willingly give their time and effort on all of our behalfs.

Well, I survived reading the thread. (Do I get a T-shirt?) Wow. Whatever contribution I could give to this thread is pretty much limited to what everyone else has said, but for what its worth I don't care what the tag says. Yeah, I wasn't the biggest fan of 'pillion' but in the end it didn't bother me too much. Thought they whole heirachy was kind of clever.

FWIW: I'm off on holidays in a week and when I get back I'll be re-evaluating my financials. If I have some coin left I'll be investing in a membership. The feedback I've received off of this site is well worth the $27 and would be one of the better investments I've made of late. Now, you don't have to agree with what I'm saying, and please, I'm really not trying to stir anything up.. but just because you can get it for free, doesn't mean you shouldn't pay for it anyway. Like you said, you don't have to agree; the views here are mine alone but I'm happily going to pay for a subscription.

...Actually, you know what... wheres my credit card....
