Street Triple / Street Triple R

What is the advantages / dis-advantages of the two. Is it worth paying the extra grand for the R, or not bother?

Ha! I was wondering the same thing a year or so ago. See my thread: street-triple-vs-street-triple-r. I ended up getting the R and no regrets.

I do like the idea of getting the ST and then using the left over for new pipes straight up rather then saving for new pipes if i get the STR..

Fully adjustable suspension, better brakes and a comfier seat.

Replace that stuff later and let me know how much you save mate.

**edit: Not to say the standard is a 'bad' bike, the R is just better and a downright bargain.

Cam is usually right, but in this case I suggest you substitute Street with the word Speed.

The new Speed is outstanding, but also slightly on the pricey side.

it's worth the grand however if you can't stretch that far you won't be disappointed with the regular model either. If you look at it another way you could get the standard model and use it as a blank canvas to put you own preferred brakes and suspension.A thousand dollars should go a long way to some good gear that's not just ripped off another triumph model. Seeing as you're looking to spend some money on an exhaust system as well that might be the way forward. plenty of info over here... Triumph675.Net Forums - Powered by vBulletin

You'll spend a whole shitload more than a grand to pick up superior bits.

Yeah i was on JCS, for slip ons, belly pan and rear tire hugger it was $1,996. Not bad. Can afford that with the STR. LETS DO IT!!.. maybe... Well i think it's " Not bad " Because i don't know shit about all of this. Not sure what's good or not.

    definitely get the R

    consider buying used.
there's a 2010 model with extras in the For Sale section. IMO the previous model striple with the classic headlights looks better.

try www.jacklilly.com for parts. they are UK based but when i asked for a quote on some items i would have saved a few hundred dollars when compared to local dealers even with the shipping cost. British Customs are not bad either.

CarpiMoto has some pretty exotic stuff including all the rizoma gear you might want.

    It's a great bike, you'll love it.
