Suzuki GSX250F Electrical issue

Hey!

Im just about to take ownership of a Suzuki GSX250F Across, and the flap for the fuel cap is temperamental and will sometimes not open, the flap is opened after turning the key in the ignition to fuel and pressing a button, does anyone have an idea how i can overcome this? Surely it could only be a bad contact somewhere?
