    Tyre pressure alert valve caps

Was looking at Valve caps online that show green when tyre pressure is OK and red when low.
Obviously to do this they must depress the valve, thus becoming the sealing unit instead of the valve.

While I like the concept, all the brands I can find seem to look cheaply made, and I would be concerned adding a potential failure point.

Anyone using these, or know of people using them?

I have some that I was given...

I would never fit them to a bike and haven't even fitted them to the car for the reason you give...

    They add another failure point...

heard that if tyre pressure is already low they are really dangerous, as the tyre spins the added force (centrifugal) pushes valve off seat and lets all the air out of your tyre....

I bought some for my bike, but when I thought about the fact that they are now what seals the valve, I took them off. ZMan uses them on his bike and hasn't had any problems to date. Think I'll stick with the old fashioned way of checking my tyre pressures...
