I don't go to UWA! But I get spam mail from your chaplain... does that count? ... and can anyone tell me why? I'm a little bemused as to how he got my details.

Shardzero.
Like you I ride to uni every day, rain hail or shine. I park in the same carpark every day and have only once found it to be too full to get my bike in - so i parked in a different area about 50m down the road.
I don't particularly like scooters, but as people have said, they have the same rights as anyone else to park there, and i've never had my bike dinged when it's been parked in close proximity to scooters so they're obviously careful and conscientious for the most part.
Also, not sure where you park, but 95% of the people i've witnessed leaving the uni usually do roughly the same thing I do - bike on, put gear on (roughly 3-5mins), leave. Haven't seen anyone miss 2nd gear either.
Maybe you're just parking in an area populated by douchebags? Try a different area dude. I'm pretty sure i've seen that 1050 you mentioned, but imo bike of the campus award has to go to an R1SP that is occassionally around.
Seeya round campus dude, take it easy and chill out a little haha.

I retract all previous statements and return to my hole. I am not brilliant at expressing my views. Apologies for intruding on your space here and making rash comments.

Hello, you've reached the psychiatric hotline. If you are obsessive/compulsive, press 1 repeatedly. If you have multiple personalities, press 2, 3, 4, and 5. If you are simply paranoid, just stay on the line - we know who you are.

What's it doing dude? Can you describe any sounds etc it makes when you're trying to start it, whether it cranks or not, etc..?

I totally agree that scooter riders have the same rights and they dont bother me really its just when they dont think before they park that shits me like today the parking was a little full but this one scooter decided to park right across the middle taking up three spaces sometimes people just dont think before they park, But i have never found it to be so full that i needed to move to another spot.
Oh and that annoying R1 that parks at the reid library car park, one day im gonna kick it over i swear, its so big it like takes up two spots

Hahaha kicking it over is oldschool, accepted practise is to become an arts lecturer then reverse over it with your van.
I had issues parking yesterday actually, maybe it is becoming a little more overcrowded of late.

Could be worth charging the battery, see if that fixes it, may as well before you start pulling out plugs. Sounds like it could be the battery, my R1 did that with it's old fecked battery - battery had enough to crank, but not enough juice behind it to start.

I had a similar problem on mine, i'd imagine it's one of 2 problems. The battery, which you've mentioned, or possibility of no fuel in the line or carbys. no, i don't know why it did that, but it's only happened once.
