Law... Don't even get me started on fucking law, law/comm, law/arts, et al. God fucking dammit. The amount of stupid horseshit that spews forth from their traps is astounding. "OMG did you like see Lexi on the weekend. She came to Onyx in like a $70 kookai top. I was like puhlleeease, take your wannabe class and fuck off you trashy slut..."
This was of course followed up by a conversation along the lines of "Where did you get that Louis Vitton laptop bag?" "Oh mums new husband bought it for me."
I went to the mighty mighty AC.... Therefore I am bound by my lineage to express a great dislike for all Hale boys. Scotch and Trinity and Wesley too....
Chiming in as another public schooled UWAer that doesn't get (or ask for) any money from his parents.
Mum did offer to buy me an econobox type car on the condition that I'd agree not to get a bike, I refused and bought the bike.
Anyhow, I went to Australind SHS, so I have no idea what anyone is talking about when all the Perth based highschool rivalries come up in conversation.
Back on topic of a tav session though, why does it have to be just one? We could agree on a time for this friday or next friday, as well as an after-exams one?
I know some people can't make it to the next 2 fridays, and I know I probably won't make it to an after exams one, as I intend to head down to Australind pretty much as soon as my exams finish (R class test booked in Bunbury soon after, need to brush up on slow control and scout out the test routes).
I'd be in for a tav session on a Friday. 5th year into my bachelor of (sporadic) attendance, 3rd year B.Sc (Environmental Science).
I ride the yellow naked Hyo usually parked at geology/geography.
uni alum still working for udub, was on campus the last few weeks training staff, gotta luv staff access to nice secure parking
any one on here own the sv??
There's a fair few SVs at uwa, although the coolest one by far is the black SV1000 with the dual sawn-off yoshi exhausts.
Someone on PSB used to own it, unsure if they still do though.
pfft, private schools are for girlymen. Do i sense a PSB UWA public school splinter group?
I fail at attending Tav on Fridays and Wednesdays due to engineeringly duties out on site each week
working in the West Perth office on a Friday with a fully stocked double door bar fridge with ample selection of beer, wine, champaigne, pre-mix and spirits was joy
working a Friday down in Baldivis with a 40km drive home = not so much joy
PS I have a strong hatred for law and private-school jock-tryhard engineers
i feel like starting a "UWA students who went to public schools and not ghey private schools" thread.
though i dont think anyone can beat my high school. except if you went to mirrabooka. *shivers*
I only went to Hale because I had a full music and academic scholarship, meaning that everything except for 35% of the tuition cost was free, my parents still had to remortgage their house to send me, I'm fucking glad of it too. I've worked in public schools and I'd rate the eduction I received as far greater than that which I've witnessed(albeit for fairly short stints) at public institutes.
Despite the snobbery and all that sort of stuff, which you didn't really get at Hale anyway, private schools have a shitload of cash. They make a fair chunk of that cash available to attract excellent teaching staff, I was taught English Literature by a fucking Rhodes Scholar for christ's sake.
Anyway, the point is, not all private school students are born with silver spoons in their mouths. I learnt some great values at the school as well, I'm definitely sending my kids there(or to another private school) if I have any.
"In all the human societies we have ever reviewed, in every age and in every state, there has seldom if ever been a shortage of eager young males prepared to kill and die to preserve the security, comfort and prejudices of their elders, and what you call heroism is just an expression of this fact; there is never a scarcity of idiots." -The Culture
Former UWA student
wish i still was.
sitting on the oak lawn perving on the hot commerce/law chicks walking past, drinking at the tav inbetween classes, finishing at 10am on fridays
was a good life.
enjoy it while you can

Respect is earned, not enforced.

Country public school is where its at!
2nd Year Engineering, yes at UWA.
Anyone else park at the eng carpark? I'm the pretentious guy who parks on the footpath where there isnt a 'M/C' marked bay.

Been to UWA, Curtin & Murdoch - haven't been to Enid Blyton Uni.
order of merit IMO
Murdoch, UWA, Curtin.
