I glanced a roo at about 40kph once, and it wasn't nice.

Wouldn't like to imagine hitting one hard enough to do that sort of damage.

Was total arse luck that it stayed upright. Will also need a new seat from where my arse tore a lump out of it hanging on. The thing I did learn from all this, is that the Duke handles like a bag of shit off road, I may need to get MX tyres for it if I continue to hit Roo's & go bush.

You kept the bike up? No injuries?

Edit: Good to hear. Lucky in your case you have a spare or two for such occasions.

Well done, sounds like you made it with little personal injury, buy a lotto ticket!

It's the expensive bit, not the plastic.

The rest of the troops tell me that the Roo kept going. Stuffed if I know to tell you the truth, I didnt even see the bastard.

    Cool

It was inevitable that this amount of damage would result from a minor bump with a marsupial. This bike has had the underlying metal polished to 0.00025mm and the surrounding fairings are actually tobacco paper. However, structural damage aside, glad to hear that the rider walked away with only his pride and sphincter compromised.

Thanks Mr Giltech. Your concerne is very touching, it's also very unusual and a tad scary.

Not as scary as your history of compromised sphincters.

G'Day Desmo. Yep very lucky. They tell me the Roo was ok. Luckily it was one of those sections of the ride where you do the right thing and sort of re group, so the speed was only about 80 - 90 K's ( as it always is along there ). Sure did rattle the teeth on impact.
As you say, it's mainly superficial, I'm more worried about bent clamps / fork legs as it has now developed a huge amount of high pitch vibration through the foot pegs / seat.
Will be off to Patto's for repairs / check over, end of the week.

    Bad luck mate,
would insurance in this instance cover it without you being at fault? What happens in these situations?

Recenet experience with a car its similar to if your car is stolen you have to pay the excess depending on your insurance company it affects your no claim bonus. Although at the end of the day that what you pay insurance for.

No idea Tec. I'll let you know what the go is when I find out myself. Either way, the baby Duke will be getting fixed ASAP.
