    Wheel rim straightening advice needed?

The other night I hit a rock I presume? and put a small buckle in my rear rim. I called Motorcycle Masters and was quoted $160 to have it straightened. Also I would have to remove the wheel from the bike and remove the tyre myself.
I thought this seemed rather expensive considering it takes about twenty minutes to straighten.
Does anybody know of someone or somewhere that might be a bit cheaper and able to do it in less than two weeks, as thats how long they said I would have to wait to get it done
    Cheers.

If you know that it only takes 20 minutes, why don't you do it yourself? Obviously they've just randomly pulled a figure out of thin air and given it to you..... /sarcasm.

From getting car rims done, I know that the absolute minimum cost is $100 from anyone in Perth... then depending what else needs to be done (re-paint, stress relieve etc), it goes up from there.

Just search google for a rim repairer, and see what any of them say.

I've had excellent service on muiltiple ocassions from Motorcycle Masters. I have always found their prices well within reason. This may be a case of being able to get it cheaper but will you have the same level of workmanship/service from a cheap place as from a good place?

Thanks Rich! I will give them a call, as part of my question was that I would also have to wait two weeks for the person who handles this particular job to get back from holidays and I would like to get it fixed ASAP.

    P.S.
I have only dealt once with Motorcycle Masters and that was on the phone.I do not have a negative opinion of them as they were polite and easy to deal with! The price IMO was a little more than I thought it would be and I hoped that someone on PSB may do it? Professionally of course!

Make sure when you get the quote from Alliance, get them to paint the rim. Mine came out looking like new.

From memory I had 2 rims straightened by MM, they were about $180 each, came back nice and straight, but are NOT painted.

Hi Potato! The bike is a GSX R600. I haven't been able to change my bike description on my PSB avatar.

Thanks Ozboy! I'll call them tomorrow. Was it same day service?
