    Me....

    1977, Yamaha 250B

Filling up with fuel in a petrol station back in the UK

Decided to pinch some of the oil (2 stroke) which was available

Pumped the little shitter like hell

Walked into garage and paid for one pump of oil

Went back to bike... shit oil puddle underneath

Decided to lift bike, kick up centre stand and move to one side

Great manouver... until foot hit oil, losy balance and laid in the forecourt of said petrol sation with bike on top of me

Yes.... the pipes were still hot............

    2006... yes last year

Playing around with the Tractor in my workshop and decided to pop it off the rear stand....

forgot to grip firmly, luckily it was a controlled decent and no damage was done....

except feeling like a right goose

Shoe laces tangled in gear lever on selby st. Pulled up at lights and unable to put foot down. Much embarressment with flashing lights and hooting of horns by fellow commuters. Thank god for closed face helmets- no one could see how red I went!

05R1... Adjusted the steering damper the wrong way then tried to do a U-Turn...

It was only in front of 5 fairly busy bike shops so not so embarrassing..

Oh yeah. Was cleaning me old bandit when my cousin came up and asked if i wanted to go out tot he pub with him

hell yes, says i. Let me just put the bike away.

move the bike, start walking, get to the end of the driveway and *clatter*

Look back, bike's on its side.

I'd forgotten to put the stand down, didn't I?

But it was THAT well balanced it took a few seconds before it fell...

Dropped the blade when the dozy bitch backed into me at the lights, minor damage to left hand side, snapped clutch lever etc etc.

Although occaisionally I forget to make sure the side stand is down properly, or that the bike is balanced, lost count of the number of times Ive had to pick up that little red bike at work haha
did it today again too, dont tell the boss!

yep. in 06 my old VT250
tried to give it a good old running push into garage uphill. didn't realise it was in gear, and got totally off balance. bike slowly got away from me and the sidestand. nothing damaged thank god, but my pride. woman across the road calls out, "are you ok?".
i sheepishly retire into the garage.

1995 just got my first bike - ZZR250 and decided I'd ride to work to show everyone my new pride and joy.

At the end of the day I'm going home and half a dozen colleages are looking at the bike with me before I go. Get on, start the bike, flick up the side stand - oh bugger - jeans got caught on the stand on the way up and then got hoocked up behind the footpeg and I couldn't get them loose as the bike fell over to the left with me on it. Ended up lying half underneath the bike with a very red face and lots of laughter ringing in my ears

Still couldn't get my leg free and had to get the mates to lift it off me before I could move. At least they were kind enough not to leave me stuck there for a while first.

Didn't ride to work again for a few weeks.

Who else has ever dropped a bike????[/b]
Over the 26 years I have been riding? Too many times to mention....

Rather than tell my own boring stories, I'll mention a friend of mine, Jeff's experience: It's not really about dropping a bike exactly but it's a classic.

Jeff finished an oil change and detail clean of his VFR750 (it was sparkling, like new) and then took it for a spin round the block to warm up the chain for oiling. At the local roundabout he lost control and bailed out just before the bike wrapped itself around a power pole. A total write-off.

Him? He landed on his feet running and then walked over to the wreckage. Tragic and lucky at the same time.

Yup, CBR250, slippery bricks outside my old work, with 4 people watching. Even I admit it was pretty funny, I never knew I could do the splits!

Yep, had that one many times, but always managed to untangle my laces just in time. Am currently eliminating laces from my entire shoe collection.

Funny how my brain is never smart enough to let the clutch out, roll forward 2m, steer into the lean and therefore just put the other (non-tangled) foot down. Instead I have to scream like a madman and waggle my legs around like I'm having a ceasure until the laces either snap ar come undone, and everyone's laughing at me.

This year, i was sitting cross legged behind my rear wheel givin it a clean whilst the bike was on the side stand. There was a spot i couldnt get to cause of the swing arm so i went to turn the rear wheel to get to it, watched the bike pop upright n then fall on its side while im still sittin there cross legged asking myself, why the fuck did i just do that!
I love two strokes. Because they annoy the shit out of people.
