    Window tint laws

Hi, all. i wanna get my hyosung 250r windscreen tinted, but wanna (if possible) do it legally.
dont wanna get in trouble with cops.
i've searched the web, and here, but cant find any distinction between motor vehicles and motor cycles.
main thing i wanna know, IS there a distinction between the two? or do the same laws apply?
    cheers

    Just do it.

The cops are really reasonable about letting you off it you weren't aware of the rules.

the laws about the darkness of the tint are only in place so that the driver can be identified and the inside of a car can be seen and not hidden. As you're on a bike and the rider can always be seen completely and the screen has no ability to hide anything, you can go as dark as you feel is neccissary

i wanna do it for 2 reasons.
    1, looks good.
2, helps block some light from the gauge cluster amking it easier to see.

have been pulled up for this, and threatened with a yellow (altho the actual ruling i have not seen), my understanding is as it is a "windscreen" it must be clear, no tint at all. I argued that the screen on my bike (zx10) could not ever be seen through due to its height and position, and therefore could be tinted as it was not vision impairing. I cant see that, as an example, a goldwing with a blacked out windscreen could ever be legal, so would assume that the same would apply for any bike...?

I got an almost entirely black screen on my ninja. Then again I attract more attention from the red P on my back.

The cops just look for an excuse to book dickheads. Don't ride like a dickhead, or behave like a dickhead if you get pulled over and you'll be fine.

Better to keep your stock gear just in case. Otherwise there might be another "anyone got a stock ninja windscreen pits needed".

Mine is black as night. I plead ignorance.

I don't see you having a problem with it. A cop would have to be in a pretty crappy mood or you'd have to be giving him a bit of lip to cop a yellow for it.

Good point raised about the goldwing. Would be interesting to know the rule... My guess is that they are meant to be clear by law.
