    wobbly bars

Do your bars wobble and oscillate increasingly strongly like they wanna do a tank slapper when you take both hands off the bars (briefly e.g. to get feeling back in the hands) at about 60 clicks on suburban roads ?

Is this some natural side-effect of sportbike geometry and the road surface or are my forks forked ?

    Cheers...

this could be caused by either you steering head bearings being farked or your front wheel/tyre needing rebalanced.( the later is easily fixed )

When you grab a big handfull of break do you feel a little knock through the bars ? If so then maybe you need the steering head bearings either need repacked and adjusted or in most cases replaced.

If the wheel balance is out you could have that fixed easily

Or perhaps there is some run out on the wheel, Has it got any bashes on it ?

ill put money on the front tyre being scalloped.

Take a look at it and run your fingers over the tread, you'll probably notice it is uneven and sections of the tread are higher that the others.

Possibly new tyre time, consistenly check your tyre pressures at least once a week or every time you go for a decent ride.

Feel free to prove me wrong, it could be any of the other suggestions here but I reckon this is the most likley.

I think it just depends on the bike,. My old GSX1100 (85 model) was completely rebuilt from the ground up, as in new everything and that used to shake the shit out of itself whenever you let go of the bars. The Duke has no such problem no matter what speed you let go at.
