    ive noticed a couple of people on the R1-forum have reported a bizarre ]rearset failure. These things have been out in the US for a couple of months now so there are plenty of ride reviews as well.

    if you hunt you will find a nice dyno chart showing the last 3 generation R1's superimposed. The 07 curve looks much more linear than the 04-06 but still a little wonky and high RPM style power when a K6 curve is laid over the top.

    Mate, I have read that whole thread, and there is 2 instances of a rearset breaking.
    Hardly enough to warrant FUD. Yet.

    Thanks guys....now i got to read it all...the new R1 is supposed to get here next week...

    Rode the fireblade and the zx10 yesterday....wanna ride r1 and gsxr before I decide..

    yep only two, but both with exactly the same bizarre horizontal shear (ie: perpendicular to the force applied on a rearset) failure mode. Its the inexplicable failure mode that has me a little cautious.
