i have been informed that you can not get a permit for mods on your bike from the pits so (it should be standard) any thing non standard can be stickered for.
This is a little wierd cos my insurance company will insure my bike with said mods.

So would it be fair to say that the system is flawed?
Bet they charge you extra for that.
Look, MA, the deal is - as has been adequately explained already but for the sake of repetition in the hope that it sinks in - defect notices can be doled out an officer's discretion solely on the suspicion that the bike does not adhere to the regulations applied to all vehicles on both a state and federal level. As to whether or not officers abuse this power is open to interpretation but in all your dealings with officers that have stickered you, or you suspect will sticker you, has your behaviour, mood or attitude done anything that would genuinely encourage them to discontinue?
Quote: Interesting thought, but watch the reaction of a copper who wants to give you a yellow over something stupid when you pull out a camera.
There has been a number of cases of "accidentally" smashed phones fall victum to the process of keeping the streets safe. (from evidence)
Good reason to make a complaint and kick up a little fuss thenI hate people who take power trips and target people because of prejudice towards something they do. Granted, if I got caught doing half the things I do my bike would be impounded permanently, but if that's the case I'd cop it on the chin. People should be punished for what they are actually doing, not what they may have done.
Yellow stickers are a good idea in theory.
I applaud any effort to get, dare I say it, cooners off the road.
Having said that, everyone I know, with the possible exception of browncam, has copped them for trivial things(actually, yellow headlights are a trivial thing too). I managed to get one on a stock bike that was less than a week old(I was told I was speeding when I'm pretty sure I wasn't(and told him this), thus, in his eyes my speedo was defective).
It seems that they are primarily applied to bikers as a dickhead tax. If the cop suspects that you have done, are doing or will do something dodgy, they seem to mete it out as a message to 'pull your head in'.
