meh flybys are awesome fun the sound of a bike going past nearly pushing 300 is pure bliss

now what is a challenge is doing 200 on a gravel road btw it is doable just the back end is rather 'interesting' (for the fun patrol, guess what? private driveway)

    Carparks don't count, dude.
It is worth remembering that when a person dies, his or her funeral contributes to the Gross Domestic Product, even though they are no longer there.

No, there aren't. 110km/h is the default limit, with some major highways 130km/h.

Safe Speed isn't measured in KM/h.
All speed can be measured in km/h - I think you mean that it should not be defined, whether a particular speed (km/h) is safe or not. More that it depends on prevailing road/traffic conditions.

    .....

I didn't want to sound like I was picking on you with my first comment thro. I infact agree with most of your comments.

Yeah no worries mate, and i'm aware they don't "have" to barter it down.

It's a calculated risk of course. I mean hell, a toddler could be crossing the freeway at the time and I could run him over.

    Like i said... calculated risk...

You: "yeah, speeding is evil, I dont ever do it, its stupid. How bad was that guy who got killed when a car pulled out on him the other day though?"
Them: "Nah, he was probably speeding, his fault really, bloody bikes"

YOU on the other hand, want us to say: "If he was thats really dumb and he is partly to blame, but I dont think he was"

See the subtle difference? See how ever so slightly you then condone thier anti-bike attitudes, vindicate thier baseless assumption, and support thier blame shift? Its slight, but its there, and I think you are clever enuogh to see it.
WOW your powers of comprehension are only surpassed by all that built up anger. I'm not sure how you got to know me in such great INACCURATE detail and made your own FALSE conclusions based on my somewhat moderate approach to all this. Is it because I used the word compromise?

I nominate you for chief UN negotiator Have a great xmas.

A very interesting topic from a number of viewpoints. Personally, I've always thought that, despite the blood, guts and death on the road, travelling on public roads is a game. You do what you think you have to and, most importantly, always look at surviving. I'm an old fart and have had my share of tickets over the years and never complained once.

Why? Because I know that I've got away with a hell of a lot more than what I've been booked for. I always get off my bike, remove gloves and helmet, and most importantly, treat the nice officer like he's a human. In my younger days, I would be pulled over once a month on average but get only one ticket a year.

Take your ticket with good grace and laugh about it. You survived it. If this bloke in the Commodore whined about his ticket I wouldn't have any respect for him. If he took it standing up, well good for him. 200kmh on the Tonkin? Hell, I did 235 in '87 on the then new FZR1000 going over the Guildford Rd overpass........is there a statute of limitations?
