That project has been kept pretty quiet, i only found out about it a week ago, still waiting to get my hands on the new test questions!!

On a positive note, about time the R-N fell into the same theory test category.

if your current ridesafe book is this one Ride Safe handbook then you have nothing to worry about, if not then check out that link as the new book is online.

The new book that the new test is based on was available online and from licensing centres mid june to early july so i would assume you have the right one, but it never hurts to check these things.
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?

when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.

Rumoured to be mid next year. At least when they were last evaluating the the LAMS systems the aim was mid next year.

My understanding was that if you wanted to obtain a scooter licence (R-N) you always needed to sit the electronic bike licence tests, unless of course you already had a car licence in which you can ride a scooter by default...

My licence used to actually display R-N and when I went for my R-N licence I had to sit the car theory test and the motorcycle theory test at the same time (I was getting a scooter licence at 16).

    The year was 2003.

    My 2c.

There's some cool stuff in that booklet. For example you have to ride the bike while facing forwards.

I had wondered if it was illegal to carry dogs on bikes but it appars to be ok to do so
    ............................
Riders must not carry any animal between themselves and the handlebars. The only
exception is if the person who rides with the animal travels a distance of no more
than 500 metres on a road for the purposes of a farming activity and that safety is not
    compromised.
Friends are like potatoes, if you eat them they die.

If you read the DPI site the new test is for RE.

    To get your R;

    Step 1: Apply
You can apply at any Driver and Vehicle Services Centre or regional Agent.
    You will be asked to:
    Complete an application form
    Pass an eyesight test
Provide proof of identity (see proof of identification fact sheet below)
Pay a fee – the fee includes an entitlement to one Practical Riding Assessment (see above).
The biggest problem with DPI is no 2 staff seem to give the same answer to your questions.
Intelligence and education are three sides of the same coin.

Hey Blondie, the new MTT is based on the Ride Safe handbook, so if you've read that, you should be fine.
