Home is where the Art is.
Next headline: '$200,000 camera disabled by 2 cent paintball'
Please somebody, anybody do this.

Why? I'd much rather fixed cameras at black spots like Europe than roving hidden ones.

won't make any difference to the road toll.
will add more cash to gov coffers.
As if they don't get enough money from us already for speed camera's they have to add a few more.
Bloody money grabbing bastards

They're not adding new cameras. They're mounting existing mobile cameras in the fixed housings.

Oh, Excellent!
Another revenue raising effort from our Nanny State Overlords, all in the name of saving lives.
Never mind the black spots that actually matter, but don't raise revenue.
Riding - Living the dream...

1. Take note of location
2. cover plate or slow down until past camera
3. ???
4. Government doesn't profit!

my guess it will be in the 80 zone somewhere........cos im sure 20km over would raise some cash fast![]()
WTFRAC head of member advocacy Matt Brown said a survey of members showed 59 per cent of motorists favoured fixed speed cameras on freeway
The ones in Melbourne drive me insane, they seem to be designed to get people not paying attention and doing 1-2km/h over the limit, not save lives. In fact, when going through those sections people seem to be 75% looking at their speedo and 25% looking at where they are going. Who would approve of this???

Money grubbing scum.

So they have bought 'several ' german made housings.... and only fitting 1 out... so expect that they errect a few around the place, but only one will be live - with the ability of them to move it between housings anytime.
When the only tool you have is a hammer, every thing starts to look like a nail

They will be using one of the current Poliscan (ie mobile) cameras.
This means that it can be detected with a Valentine One radar detector and block with an ALG9.
ie it won't be using the undetectable/unblockable road sensors that the intersection cameras use.

My waterbed broke this morning. Oh, I don't have a waterbed. Bugger.
I drove past a fixed one regularly when I lived in NSW, and the first few times you drove past it and the 3 or 4 signs announcing its presence you slowed down. After a while, it became pretty easy to forget it as just more road signs and drive normally. I never got pinged by it, but I would think a lot of people would.
Fuck speed cameras up their stupid vaginas. Maybe I could live with them if they put all the money raised into driver training, or crash victim compensation or something, but the current system is a joke. Thinking that it saves lives just proves the levels of retardation of those pushing the message.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon! Press the brake foot as you roll around the corners, and save the collapse and tie up.
