    Yep -
To Michèle Merli’s recent message “They [motorcyclists] must not go faster than cars… otherwise they should commute by public transport”, the FFMC’s response is very clear: if you treat motorbikes and scooters like cars, they will behave like cars and cause congestion.

And when "In response to a statement made by the French Transport Secretary, Jean-Marc Belotti, who said “If they [bikers] are not happy, they can take the metro like everyone else”, protestors took over the Paris underground network.

That's the French though, they are very adept at fighting what they see as unjust and immoral in their own country, but when it comes to actually defending their country.... Surrender monkeys.

this kind of thing has happened in australia. In the 1980's MRA organised a mass protest where motorcyclists came into melbournes CBD early and took up almost all the car parking spaces, even paying to do so.
Unfortunatly MRA is almost non excistent anymore. This could happen in perth if enough people were involved.

Congratulations to our French cousins. I would suggest clogging up the Perth CDB in protest over here, but the council seem to have that covered already.

This example simply demonstrates that nearly three decades ago motorcyclists in one city had the minerals and organisation to protest something (and motorcycles can still park on footpaths etc in melb to this day, so good on em)

Has no real relevance to today, though... unless I'm missing a large protest ride that achieved something recently

Very impressive. The French have always been good at this, the farmers especially.

But as people have said, sadly our government has no fear of any decent protests happening here whatever they do.

maybe people in Perth are not drawn to protest on parking because in reality it just isnt THAT big of an issue.
