HUGE prang on Fwy Southbound : Canning Bridge
Just went past, looks big and bad.
A falcon van/ute completely turned around with the front all stoved in in the outside lane, and a jap car of some sort (older Integra) all smashed and stuck in the stopping lane.
Debris all over the shop. The jap car looks icky (and maybe a fatality??) whilst the driver of the ford appears to be OK, but a bit cut and still in his car.
Couple of bikes parked, so maybe someone from here was assisting?

Aye.. Just drove past and there's the works, fire, ambo's like 8 cop cars. They're blocking off lanes so I'm guessing there's been a fatality...

Woman killed in freeway crash
11th December 2007, 6:45 WST
A 26-year-old woman was killed in head-on car crash on the Kwinana Freeway last night.
It is believed about 10.50pm the 26-year-old male driver of a Ford Falcon ute turned right from Canning Highway onto the south bound lanes of the Freeway and continued travelling north.
The woman, of Canning Vale, was driving her Nissan Pulsar south and the ute collided with her car about 300 metres north of the Canning Highway exit.
The woman died at the scene and the man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
Major Crash officers are investigating whether alcohol was also a factor in the crash.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen the blue Ford Falcon utility driving along Canning Highway prior to the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The young woman’s death beings the state’s road toll this year to 221

Wrong way down the freeway... Can WA drivers get any worse? And it results in the loss of an innocent... fucking disgusting.

Was the ute driver on a death wish? Somehow, it just doesn't sound 'innocent' to me. If he was....wrong life taken.
RIP.

At a guess, the ute driver was pissed (or drugged-up), and took the wrong turn.
IF that is the case, it is perhaps the wrong life that was taken.

Are the "WRONG WAY GO BACK" signs down for maintenance or something?

Not.

I can see the wrong way down the Freeway at Canning Hwy wouldn't be too hard if you don't know the area.
i.e. you can't go Freeway north from Canning Hwy West. IF you come up to the lights at the top of the bridge the bus lane comes out onto the bridge, now if you'd seen two off ramps you could mistake the bus lane for an on ramp, they'd be no sign saying go back as it's a bus off ramp. Has there been an accident there before, bus v car???
If it was here I suggest that there should be a boom gate installed that buses activated when they were approaching it, this would make it obvious that there was no entry.
RIP to the young lady
