So I'm on my way to tafe this afternoon going along Aberdeen St in Northbridge. The car in front of me slows right down and pulls over to the left (no indicator). This happens a lot with people looking for shops etc so I go to pass. Just as I'm about to pass this dickhead pulls right out across me. I drop the anchors but nowhere near enough time to stop, plus it was wet. Bike slams face on into the side of the car and I slam nuts first into the tank before putting the bike down on the road.
The guy who pulled out on me was good about it, straight away got out a pen and paper and wrote down his name, phone number and rego so I could call him tonight to get his insurance details.
His response to my "what the fuck was that?!" was "sorry man missed the turn and I didn't see you."
The damage:
Headlight reflectors both broken up inside
Front fairing cracked across the entire width
Ram air tube mount broken (where it mounts to the frame)
Clutch cover scraped up a little
LHS fairing scuffed next to the clutch cover
Forks might be twisted
That's all I can tell so far. It's been taken off to the yard to be inspected by QBE so I'll wait to hear back what other damage there is.
Hopefully insurance will sort it out quickly (not likely though).
So for now, I'm bikeless.
