    human v's train

this morning heading south on freeway. Sheets over body and police everywhere.

feel sorry for family and train driver, and all the poor people that have to clean the mess up

Pretty much. Never publicised because many of them are suicides and at night.

And I think the word you're looking for is 'disintegrate'

He dragged. The side of the platform was a nasty shade of red

edit: And a big "fuck you" to the hundreds of rubber-neckers, literally stopping on the freeway, just so they could have a better look at what had happened.

What's the standard TFL broadcast whenever something like that happens?

"Due to a person taken ill..." or

"Due to a person on the track..."

There's another one that I can't recall at the moment...

Nah, they are pretty blunt over in pom-land (or were back in '91)

..."due to a body on the track, this service wil terminate at holburn (or wherever)"

Desmo: its been a once a week thing for many many years...

I did my time in the Railways and the train has to come straight in for inspection and clean...

The most common spot used to be across from Karrakatta cemertry..

Aah yes but the UK has gone all PC and cuddly/doo-gooder since then. When I was there, that's all they used to say, with another that I cant recall right now.

Suprised there ain't more than that as it's such an easy way out, last minute leap in front of train that has no chance of shaving off enough speed before it hits you front on and it's pretty much a guaranteed kill.

Seriously selfish, the drivers get a week off I think, not much time to really recover from that.

I know in the UK it's a pretty standard cowards way out, but I didn't realise that we lose c50 people a year in Perth from taking a swanny in front of a train.
