The best part about this, and we need to find a way to get it in the media as much as possible, is the comment from the police spokesperson, "Public safety will not be comprimised" combined with their plan to not issue traffic infringements and block speed cameras.

It's as close to, "Speed cameras have nothing to do with public safety" as you'll get from them.

this is utter crap on the part of police.....they are holding the government to ransom.......no group of people should be able to do that.......

what the police are doing is a deriliction of duty and as such should be liable for the same penalties that were going to be used against construction workers that carried out the "blue flu" from a few years back ( didnt agree with that either ).

but as murley said ...a very visable police vehicle is the best deterrant to speeding there is...and it just proves that the police know this as well

No not good on them, Cops undoubtabley have a hard job to do, but the entry requirements are equivilent to a fast food manager, you only have a yr 10 pass, no career goals or bankable skills, you become a police officer, that or a garbo, these people forget why they are there, then complain they dont get paid enough, if they want a well earning job get some fucking bankable skills, donut eating fucks.
