Problem with that being, the police apparently do shit all about people driving off. About the only way anything might come of it would be if the person's stupid enough to come back to the same petrol station.

Yeah, nothing of consequence will actually happen, but even if all they get is a phonecall, the average person will still be getting anxious about it.

shame on everyone attempting a round about today Was it give-way-to-your-left day today & no one told me?
especially the bint who decided to enter the one I was already using, causing me to lockup & come to rest about half a metre short of a T-bone. Thanks for stopping dead in my path too dear, made the afternoon worthwhile.
$20 worth of fragile plaster ceiling vents sitting on the passenger seat ended up as shards & crumbs in the footwell. Your little sorry wave won't fix them. Bitch.

Been there. Is it me, or have more people recently started deciding progressively smaller distances are appropriate when pulling out?

The cops can't do shit without video footage or a positive ID. The thing is though...they still follow it up and go knocking on doors and askin questions
Hilarious if just for the factor.

There is not much the cops can do. The servos are offering an unprotected short-tem credit. There is no contract, or verbal agreement of credit prior to authorising your pump. There is also no perimeter control.
When/if the cops get the call, and follow it up, the law has no leg to stand on when the junkie or senile old biddy alike state that they had an absent minded moment and just forgot pay after fuel up.
Drive offs will get worse.

Silver Common-door driver on Alexander Drive, Alexander Heights around 7:15am today. How desperate are you, needing a hit from a bong that early in the morning while driving in fairly heavy traffic.

Not happy...
To the dickhead 4 wheel drive guy who sauntered out across two of the three lanes of South street this morning from the North Lake Rd Shopping centre, and finally seeing me coming down South St. waved me through- UP YOURS!
Now I feel better, been carrying that all day.

WAPOL patrol car ZS103: when a ute is crossing an intersection in front of you and your light is GREEN, that means he ran a RED LIGHT. The way you eventually crawled away from the line heading the opposite direction, indicated to me you weren't on your way to anything more important. Lazy, irresponsible, non-policing there officer.
To the ute driver's defence though, he had mud-guards.

christ I hate people (car or bike) that use the emergency lane, especially in peak hour. bastards. I've been tempted on occasion, but never have simply because I wouldn't want anyone else thinking I was a fucktard aswell.
