    New permanent speed cameras

Checked the speed camera locations this morning and three new permanent camera came up on Leach Hwy.

    1. North Lake Road
    2. Stock Road
    3. Carrington Road.

Hopefully the following ling will work.

Traffic information and speed camera locations Australia
Life seems more precious when there's less of it to waste.

Is anyone able to do coordinates of said cameras so we can add them to GPSs and the like?

I don't use one, but I may very shortly I think.

I can put them in a layer on google earth or somesuch (that's easy).

There is an iPhone app that sort of covers this as well. If memory serves there is a thread for this idea around somewhere as well... I'll go find it.

    Edit

    Here you go:
Mobile speed camera map - done

It used to be stickied I think... but it's pretty helpful if you're planning a ride.

Soo... these are traffic light/speed cameras, a la the one at Riverside?

Because I, uh, may have been, err.. highlighting the dangers of speeding to a mate in my new car last night, somewhere in the vicinity of that region
    Insert witty comment here

I don't know how these speed cameras detect you - unless they're just not turned on yet? Went through the 3 on Leach HWY this AM with my detector, X, K, Ka & Laser turned on and none of the alarms went off.

Totally off topic, but how do I do a layer in google earth?
I want to map out all the sanctuary zones so I know where I can an can't fish.

No, they are just speed camera's.

Anyone that has lived or driven for any period of time in the Eastern states will have seen their type before. They will do all three lanes on Leach Hwy and are REAR-FACING (for those that haven't seen them).I am not sure if they are active but they aren't sign-posted like they are in the eastern states. They have been in location for over a month now so i am guessing that they are active though. They do not, however, have a video camera system watching them to make sure nothing "accidental" happens to them.

I know things move slowly in WA but with a 700 odd million dollar loss in earnings or somesuch I guess the state government is keen to start "saving lives".

I wonder where they may have put any others. Apparently a Main Roads rep was asked about them on talkback radio a couple of weeks ago and flat out lied and said they were a battery backup system for the lights.Feel free to don the tin-foil hats and conspiracy away.

I just got pulled over by wapol riding with a fender eliminator (as you do) & had a bit of a chat to the officer bout the new cameras up on leach hwy. According to him they're just video monitors to keep an eye on traffic & not speed cameras. Anyone car to test them out?

he did say the one on riverside dr is a red light & speed camera but.
