    NSR lowside at barbs

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s9OiWfR200"]YouTube - Trakdays Level 2[/ame]

    Bit annoying, coz this was only the second session of the day, missed out on most of the day.. Not really sure what happened, seemed like I was going fine... I got a theory I broke the rearset off because of the way I put my weight on it, but its likely it would have broke off in the accident.

    Leathers did their job apart from the glove which wore thru on the back leaving me a small graze. Rolling down the track wasn't really as bad as I thought it would be, I was pretty relaxed and was really only worried about being run over by someone following.

    Fairings look a bit sad, for now I'll just patch em up and look at doing a nicer job down the track.

    So anyone got a spare rearset/rear brake lever for a Honda NSR250?

    The crash was about 10-11 minutes in, I cut the first few minutes of the video coz its pretty much the same thing over and over.

    Ok...I can`t see the vid on my work laptop, but from what the guys saying, "at 2min you can hear the pegs scraping", I would say you dug in the peg and leavered out the front, which consequently didn`t have any more interest in staying with you...

    Yeah I think you could be on to something there, on this turn, I was really really trying to get my knee out, I had my whole ass off the seat and was just on my thigh..

    I was scraping pegs thru many of the turns, sometimes for extended periods

    I think I touched the peg down once, on my last visit to barbs..

    Dood, were you off the side of the bike? Hope you're not feeling too sore. Looks to me like you just leant it over too far, think I heard the pegs scrape just as you came off also, not much tyre left over that far. Heal quick mate.

    Ok, I managed to have a look at it....the way it looks like to me is that you went in on a different line and changed your speed compared to the other times you wne t through the corner. That ment you had to lean over more and unfortunately there wasn`t enough tyre left to hold the little beast in check....

    Psyched beat me to it....lol...^^^

    Mate it looks like you were having a ball on the ning-ning rounding up the bigger bikes

    Hope the bruises heal quick and you get that little beast back on the road soon

    Ouch ... tough break Creme

    Is it possible your line was too "central" coming into the basin? Looked like you were a on a good line then cut across too early whereas other times you stayed wide then speared across the apex

    Listening to it.... you loaded up the pegs/knee-sliders through the corner.... with the additional lean angle you had through the basin at that particular time, you unloaded the front or rear tyre, causing the lowside.......

    Bugger about the damage, but you probably need to lean off the bike more to stop this happening in the future......

    Otherwise good luck with finding the parts.

    looked to me like you tipped in early for the first apex and tried to hold the riffle strip all the way into the basin despite already being at maximum lean angle. maybe that is the correct 250 line anyway i dunno.

    i was suprised that you didnt seem to get much warning maybe the tyre was shagged?

    nice riding anyway, the little nsr looked like heaps of fun up until the point where it was lying in the dirt

    edit: and finally, you shouldnt have two keys on the chain like that.. it scratches hell out of top triple clamp.

    Glad to hear you're ok, and hope fixing it isn't too nasty.

    Hey Creme, heard about your off at the photo shoot last night.. glad to hear your ok mate.

    And like others mention I love your comment at the end

    I watched the crash a few times and just before (~1sec) it lets go you can hear a sound change .. like your peg just starting to scrape... causing the front tire to unload?? .. But then I'm no expert.

    I skoke to you at the track afterwards and to me as expressed, the rearsuspension was way to soft and low with your weight on it
    First ; it makes the steering very lazy on the front, hence the pressure to get it to steer/fall in.
    Second; it robs you of ground clearence something bad!
    Remedy;
    Lots more prespring, or heavier springrate.
    Damage was not bad on the bike and fairing, due to you not having blankoff plates where the mirrors were.
    You'll be back in no time having more intoxicating fun on the Honda Ning-ning.
    Brake fluid might need some attention, looking at the pics as does the gearing!.
