Hahahahaha, I think the "shit in the pan" comment may have put her off.

And for the PSB massif, his current location, just spoke to him.

Hey, as a 90kg lightweight I might have to get in on some burger action myself.

So, too, is the howling wind, which Smitheringale has described on his blog as ``like an orchestra warming up''.

Verbatim quote from Tom, I can't blog this as is, but thought someone might find it amusing.

Tell him to think this thought whenever he's feeling down or upset about his food:

"I'm in the harshest, most remote, desolate environment imaginable. My meals are freeze dried and I have to use a camp stove to cook up what is essentially not very good food...

...but I'm still eating better than Orson right now

Cheers Desmo. Love Tom's comments about dinner... I can imagine me doing the exact same thing (especially if there was spag bol in there somewhere.... )

Quick qu - Tom is reporting his position in decimal degrees yeah? It's just that on the front page of the site it says he has travelled 80km, but by my calcs he's done 55km.

The way I am calculating it is for that map on the front page of the site.
The controls I have are xxxx/800Kms.
So to make sure we get the map right, I am taking his current position, measuring to the North pole, and then subtracting that amount from 800.
A bit convoluted I know, but it'll ensure we get an accurate(ish) measurement.

EDIT: And that 800 was derived from the distance from McClintock to the North pole, but due to the weather Tom had to leave from Ward Hunt Is.
