    Pineapple

Curious to see if anyone copped a pineapple today on Orrong Rd near Archer St about 11.30 am.
Dejected looking young bloke leaning against a wall, bike cop with the pad out writing like a demon and what looked like a red/black CBR being loaded onto a tilt tray.

Sort of hoping it was a pineapple and not an off.

I'll be seeing them saving lives hiding in bushes and queuing up in dubious parking spots at Ascot McDonalds, I'm assuming

Article from April, be interesting if anybody could confirm the CHOGM bikes were new or not....

I'd not be surprised if there was anything WAPOL was incapable of fucking up.

CHOGM bikes are not new. But were never used prior to. Someone obviously thought they were handy. Now they have to find the riders. I have heard a rumour more have been ordered but that is still a rumour.

    ST1300 Wobble

Several European Police departments have grounded the Honda ST1300P due to instability and crashes with injuries at high speeds. Holland (the Federal Police) had a bad experience on an early version where the Dutch motors officer crashed the bike at 100+ mph when an uncontrollable front end wobble. I have also read that some departments in England have grounded the motor due to the same problem. That would explain the electronic governed speed on the US version. According to articles written on the subject, "Riders of the 2002 model reported a severe wobble at speeds above 160 km/h (100 mph), a problem which Honda considered serious enough to halt production of 2003s. The problem was eventually solved, the 2002s were recalled for a replacement of some chassis parts and the fix was applied to early 2003s.

A bit off topic, but how come the work place conditions don't force them to wear protective gear, or is this a really old photo. Although this one would only need skin grafts, it would take a hell of a slide to get down past the fat to the bits that would need re-construction.

Another fat bastard with a reflective vest gaffer taped on too, must be de-rigueur for enforcement types.

Yes OSH now require all the safety gear. You can and will get shafted for not wearing it. The wobble was sort of an issue, you just pushed through it and all was good. But you had to know when to expect it. It was only on acceleration not deceleration or braking. Preferred the 1100.

It wasn't me, but they got me today.

Lesson. Yes I may be fast enough to outrun a cop on a bike, but not his 5 mates blocking the road.

Ah well. I've had it coming.

can't outrun Motorola, got to hate it when they call ahead and there was no way off the road.

Yeah but what's "all the gear"?

Helmet, boots, what looks (in the pic above) like size 45 lycra pants and a hi vis jacket over the shirt?
