    Prestige Honda needs your feedback!!

    HI Guys/Gals

I posted this here instead of in the trade area as..... well I'm NOT selling anything in this thread. Mods feel free to move if this offends any rules.

Prestige Honda is well overdue to get a new website. We are going through some ideas for features and presentation now.

What I would like is some feedback as to what you guys are looking for in a website from us.

Your feedback will go straight through to the design company and we will nut out what is the best plan of attack.

    Thanks in Advance Jp

An online store or catalog would be nice.

The current method of opening the Trading Post (Used bikes) or Honda Australia (New Bikes) website up within the frame of your own website is very frustrating, and makes it a pain to browse, as you then have multiple slider within the window which you have to manipulate to try and see all the information.

Additionally, an idea of what parts and accessories you actually have access to, as well as those that you have a comprehensive range in stock would be appreciated as well. Allthough I don't personally visit you for a bike, or service work, if you identified what Accessories & Apparel you had a range of in stock, I'd definitely visit to see that.... and then possibly move onto looking at bikes (not likely at this stage)

I definately agree... I-frame concept we have at the momonet does not fir properly and you cant see whats going on. This is top of the priority list.

Was most disapointed to travel down to see your range of road boots only to find you had barely any in stock. A listing of stuff you carry would be most handy as T-Roy said.

Another +1 for buggering the I-frame concept off.

Setting up the bike pages so I don't have to scroll across to see price would also be nifty.

one thing i realy dislike in alot of motorcycle websites ive seen is the fact there are no prices or specific items to look at , just a page that shows the brands the store stock's . for eg some store's out rockingham way dont show wat they have or how much it cost where as the causeway shops do , so i travel up there as i know what i want is there.

Apart from all of the above, one nice thing would be the ability for customers / potential customers to rate products listed. This is so when browsing for a new pair of gloves, for example, I can sort by what other riders found the best etc. Also provides feedback to you, about the stock and what we want.

This is all good stuff... I do agree we dont stock enough boots. Suzanna is onto it.

Not making excuses...... BUT. we are in the middle of renovatin the whole shop. Part of what i want in the new website is a blog type section to show you guys what we are doing down this way. we are very short on wall space so we are in the midst of getting free standing slat wall and shop fixtures to really boost our range of accessories.

That and by the end of the year we should have something really big to announce. But thats for later.

I like the idea of rating products. By the end of the week I will be forwarding this entire thread to the Web design company for there viewing.

Checkout The Honda Shop Midland, they have a pretty good user friendly site IMO. I just purchased another bike (used), and did all my searching over the internet.

    - Not really a design suggestion, but please update your used bikes for sale at least weekly. Im always on the look out for another bike and will often check out 2 Perth dealers websites who constantly update there used bike pages. When I see something I like, i drop round for a better look.
By continually updating , it shows the shop will take the effort to make a sale.

    - Also im a big fan of the "close out" sections on the USA accessories websites, kind of like a "specials" section. Alot of clearance/ one off stock they want to get rid of that they drop the price on to move it. I usually browse a few of the close out sections at least once a month and pick up a bargain or two.

    - If your able to, list the price/RRP and stock available of parts and accessories on your website. I prefer to buy online for the convenience and it saves me having to call stores for prices and stock availability.

    - Might even pay to put up basic service costs/ specials on the website. Im more inclined to use a mechanic to service my bikes if i know upfront what the service will cost and usually can't be arsed ringing round.

    - A picture paints a thousand words so put up plenty of photo's of the gear/ bikes your selling.

    - Links to manufacturers websites annoy me. For example if you selling "Uni filters" for my dirtbike and you have a section on them, put the information on your website, don't link me to their corporate website where I have to spend 10 minutes navigating their website to find the product I was interested in.

    - Most importantly keep it updated!!!! nothing worse that a tired old website with the same crap for sale/ on special/ deal of the month from 2 years ago

    Cheers

Oh and Kudos to you for actually taking the time to ask your customers/potential customers what they want. Shows alot for the direction your business is heading.
I like to support my local stores if they can be arsed working for my business.

    Hey guys.....

All this has been sent directly to the Marketing company. Much appreciated. Not everything is achievable due to budget, but there will be a lot more featues available to people soon.

    Search engine for used bikes
    Instore specials
No more Iframes on new bikes page
    dedicated accessories page
sell your bike to us page

its about 8 weeks away but it is coming.

If you do make an online shop, please list the little things, indicators, bar ends, bolt sets, seat covers, tank protectors and all those little things you can buy easily online with out much thought.
A lot of the time people want things fast, buying local is the best option because its all done fast with next day delivery.
