Very sad. My mate just went passed and called me with this news, he was freaked out by the scene. A truck was involved and was in the middle of the intersection, he could not really tell how it had all happened. RIP rider

Purely speculation (which I generally hate with accidents) but appears as though the guy went under a truck about 4 odd meters before the first set of lights. Sure the distorted facts will be released by the media shortly.

I was one of the early people on the scene, and although i dont currently own a bike, i felt compelled to, out of respect for my fellow man, say what happened as told by another rider who witnessed the event.
The guy riding the bike was about mid 30's and had been nervously splitting lanes, when the lights went green, he took off and went to go into right hand lane, and for some reason, stalled the bike, and went underneath the semi.
I was about 5 cars back, and several guys came running down asking if anyone knew first aid, but by the time I got up there, it was too late the man had passed.
Bike if i recall was a black hyosung, relatively new, and guy was wearing work gear.

The truckie was staying strong at first, but when the police came, it all seemed to hit him, and he went off to have a ciggie, I'm a bit worried for the gent who tried to give the rider CPR as well though, hopefully he does alright

Thanks for the update Zartuel and thanks for trying to assist, terrible for all involved but at least you may have curtailed some of the thoughtless speculation that normally occupies these threads.
