    Thumbs down

Well it happened, last night about 7pm I was riding down scarborough beach road for a cruisy ride then heading home.. I was in the right lane, a car in the left everything good.. Then the car in the left lane turned left and a car which was pulling out didnt see me and smacked straight into me and over I went... ouch!! Over the handlebars I went .. I think i must of flipped and my head touched down once, thankyou Shoei!

A big thankyou for louisa my saviour who kept me still and warm while we waited, I was taken away in the ambulance spent 4 hours in hospital waitiing.. (a big thanks to pete for being there for me) luckily only thing broken is a small bone near my thumb called trapezium and some grazes to both legs! I was wearing full gear and i am so so grateful i did..

As for my bike... I havent fully seen the extent of the damage yet but after the accident I saw my whole front had snapped off and there were peices everywhere... ok well my trapezium and heart is broken.. my blue beauty *sob sob*

Hopefully all goes well and I'm ready for action in a few weeks!! still really scary and I have learnt a big lesson that although it may not of been my fault, I should of been able to see the accident before it happened... I'm really lucky!

    XX D

So sorry to hear that, and hope your back on 2 wheels again soon.

I know what a hazard Scarb beach road is you take your life in your hands just walking across it to get some lunch, let alone a Sat arvo or Thurs evening.

    Chin up

Glad to hear you are (reasonably) okay there RedAngel. Pity about the Ninja, hopefully theres another waiting for you to pick it up with their insurance money.

I do just wish that every road user was aware of the other road users, it is infuriating that motorcyclists have to make up for the inadequacy of other road users in their vigilence.

We have HOON laws for hoons, so why can't we have DDB laws for people who go around as if they are Deaf, Dumb and Blind.

    Sorry for that...

... Just annoyed that another rider was injured.

Get well RedAngel, hope to see/meet you at MAD on your 'New' ride.

Good to hear you are OK - not fun spending time in hospital. Rest up and take it easy
I can't think what more you could possibly need to know... except maybe this:

Damn sorry to hear that. No one can see the future and when a car is going to pull out on you, not see you, try to barge you out their lane, etc. Glad your ok, time to treat your gaurdian angel to chocolate cake - oh and you too, nothing heals bones better than comfort food

    Take and heal quick!

You will be back on two wheels in no time!

sorry to hear about your crash red angel!!

it just happens so damned FAST doesnt it??? in less than the blink of an eye you are on the ground... thats what struck me... so fast!!

anyway, take it easy. dont rush things, you will recover and hopefully insurance will pay out and you wont be out of pocket for a new bike or repairs.

    look after yourself

Sorry to hear about your crash. I actually heard about this last night and you were one of the two people with similar bike / helmet that it had been narrowed down to. Hopefully you'll be up and riding and in full confidence again shortly.
Right now Im having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think Ive forgotten this before.

Glad to hear your ok, Ive been flicked over the bars on Scarb. Beach Rd too!

I thought the "flying through the air, which way is up, oh shit Im gonna die" thing was pretty weird. Its weird losing perspective on the horizon and being ragdolled around. Must be majorly freaky at high speed.

yeah it was near scarbs so i knew someone would of heard about it.. i have no doubt ill be back and riding in no time..

But it does happen so fast and ive been reflecting on it to make sure it never happens again .. althou like gryphen said it shouldnt be us trying to make up for other drivers but i know if im out there its me who needs to be aware and try to prevent it...

thankfully rebecca i wasnt doing high speed becoz there were a few dickheads out on the road that night and i wasnt in a rush so i was just cruisin.. otherwise it would of been ALOT worse

thanks for all the well wishes .. and gpx_gal, I actually have chocolate cake that needs to be made.. wonder how ill go with one hand
