15W50 weight oil ok for our climate?

    Just a quick question,
Im looking to buy a 20lt drum of MOBIL 1 RACING 4T 15W50 from statewide to use in my motorcycles.

Is the 15W50 weight oil suitable for our climate?

Bike is a 2003 CBR954 fireblade. Normally run 10W40 oil.

    Cheers
    Theirs no replacement for displacement

Banged it in the DRZ and the wifes little CBR yesty. Motors run fine and much quieter/smoother with it. If you are super anal about hp loss and may lose sleep if you can't power out of corners like Stoner with the 1 less hp you may lose , then give it a miss...

    Yes, it's fine. 10w40 ranges from about 100cst at 40°c to 14cst at 100°c. 15w50 ranges from about 133cst at 40° to 19.4cst at 100°c.

My Royal Star Manual recommends 10w40 for temperature ranges from -5°c to 35°c and 20w50 for temperature ranges from 5°c to 40°c
