    2002 ZZR 250 Oil Leak

Hi, I bought a ZZR 250 a couple weeks back and it has been great, running well and not a spot of oil on my garage floor.

Today I took it out for about an hour and came back and noticed a little oil on my shoe. After leaving it for a few hours I came back to the following, anyone have any ideas? The leak is REALLY slow, maybe a tea spoon an hour if that?

    Thanks for any help,
    Germ.

the only place that would be coming from that i can think is your airbox . there is a breather hose inline with that leak on the center of the engine that connects to the airbox and if u over fill the bike with oil thats where it goes or if u generaly ride the hell out of it oil will go there. would be worth a look as your air filter could be clogged with oil now.

I think you're right, I will pull it out in the morning and check.

I googled how oil can get there, there seems to be a few reasons including the bike being on its side, giving it heaps or something about pressure and seals

It had its rear tyre changed today, maybe something happened there? My friend gave it a little more than usual but nothing crazy. I am going for a ride tomorrow morning so I will take it easy and see if the problems comes back.

The leak has basically stopped now, so I guess what was in there has mostly emptied.

    Thanks for your help!

just keep an eye on your oil levels , if it gets low u can easily spin a bearing somewhere.

Level seems ok, I cleaned out the air filter box today and degreased it all.

I will do an oil change in case the oil is old or something.

    Thanks for all the help

Might be up for a new rocker cover gasket. Pop off the tank and trace the oil flow it looks like it is before the air box
