Hello everybody
just wanting to know if there is a way to make my throttle a bit lighter? Tried the whole crc ing the cables but only made a small difference. Will dropping the push cable make a difference??
Any help would be much appreciated.

What do you mean by lighter? Is it sticky? When you open it does it just stay jammed on where you stopped turning it?
A few things could cause this, most likely (assuming the pull adjustment is set right) on a modified bike is cables that arent quite routed properly, failing that they can get frayed and/or clogged up inside which basicly means replacement
Not sure, but I think taking the return cable off may be a bad idea? I mean, surely they wouldn't put it on if you didn't need it?

What I mean is it doesn't jam but the throttle is heavy and I wanted to lighten it up a bit. I dont expect it to be like a 2 stroke motocross bike but a little lighter would be nice.
The reason I asked about the return cable was that a cure for 4 stroke off road bikes was to remove the return cable... just a thought thats all.
Thanks for the help so far.

is the throttle tube binding up at all? the bar ends might be fouling a little.
try taking the cable off completely and re-assemble it should have no restrain on it at all

Clean out the outter cables with degreaser and re-oil them. Maybe use a bit of engine oil on the actual grip where the nylon twist thingy is (well, it's nylon on the CBR). Also, check to see if it's rubbing on your bar ends. Oh, and also at the inner side of the grip, make sure it's not rubbing on the switch gear assembly. Clean the throttle linkages on the carbs and WD40 them.. that should fix it.

Have read the above mentioned website and apparently you can remove the return cable as long as you have CV carbs, not flat slides. I have read further to find out that you could if you wanted to use a motor cross style throttle assembly for an even lighter feel. Makes quite a difference with only one cable by the way.
