Question After market ECUs, what's out there?

So after a self imposed electrical issue in the Brutale, I'm up for a new ECU. OEM = $2,500.

So.... An aftermarket ECU it is. Even if more pricey may as well open up the potential!

I've hear about Nemesis, and MyECU amongst other, but who has one and what are opinions?

Current ECU is a Weber Marelli 1,6M

    Cheers

Definitely Microtec, bike will run shit loads better and get rid of the snatchiness at throttle opening and also will get better fuel consumption and more power. The engine will also run cooler which if a problem with the MV's. Highly recommend. Plus you can also hook up many other features , two stage mapping , shift and launch control + traction control if you want to go that far.

I notice he does a unit for the Brutale 'based' on the microtec.

    Yep, bargain hey.
...I'm hoping the Microtec is as good as everyone claims.
...now you gotta tell me how you toasted the OEM ECU.

no fuses on the -ve side of the circuit...
    Blew out diodes.

Will chase up a surface mount electronics specialist to have an eyeball at it after I replace the ECU

Any chance of a quick look of the dead one before you decide?

One part of my job description is explaining how much we charge and why, when its to do with repairing ECUs.
Intelligence and education are three sides of the same coin.

    you sure can
this is from the same issue I PM'd you about ages ago

I was going to get in touch and see if you could repair once I'd bought new Because I do really want to open up the tuning potential of the bike -she'll be a long term project

Bike is at Gill's for now and I'm heading to Singapore now, so won't be able to get to it for a bit

You'd have to contact the guy but I'm not sure the MYECU is able to run anything over twin cylinder bikes.

So... My Microtec arrived last week and install is planned for this weekend. As it seems no one has done an install walk through I think I might start new thread for one... Post it to MV.net too

I found the Microtec install on the F4 peice of cake...not complicated at all.
Having said that I've been struggling with the mapping in a big way, the Silmoto map runs waaay out on my bike and now needing to do a custom map.
