I didn't like my Barnett at all. It slipped and wore down way too quickly.
I ended up going back to sintered frictions and they worked fine so it may well have just been my bike.
Having said that, I'm not the first person to say they aren't happy with Barnett.
    I won't be buying another.

I've had recommendation from a very reputable home based mechanic that the Barnett's have been known to melt under intense conditions.\
He recommends OEM all the way.

    loved my Barnett.

maybe i'm different but it solved a lot of issues OEM stuff always had.

heard about it melting or doing the dodgy under heavy use, but personally have not seen a broken Barnett yet. Seen a fair lot of race bikes have them, and nobody has anything bad to say about them.

The Barnett is the only one I've heard of that melts or shatters under pressure.

I'm not willing to risk an entire engine strip down for that cost

IF you've had good experience, then go with that!

There's quite often one plate of a different thickness to the others.
Also need to get it right either steel or clutch disc first, and/or last.

    ^^

not soaking the plates, soaking with wrong oil (you'd be surprised)
get the order wrong e.g. starting with the wrong plate.
fitting the clutch activator assembly reversed / messed up

i think some bikes and gearboxes don't like full synthetic and it is stated in the manual, friction modifiers etc etc that are good for engine but bad for gearbox..
    etc etc...

Read up on setting clutch stack height. This is especially critical in Ducs.

When I did my suzuki I just got fibres, springs and a gasket from suzuki for about $120.

Pulled old ones out and put new ones in. didn't even have to drain all the oil, just lean the bike a little bit.

Only took me about 45 mins.

The Barnett clutch in my motard has out lasted the original OEM by a couple of thousand kays already and shows no sign of slippage..

    It has been abused ruthlessly...

I already have another one to replace it with when the inevitable happens...
