Question Clear Fairing Plastic Moulded to Match

The streetfighter buells these days have transparent airbox covers (where the fuell tank usually is). The thing is they're all coloured pretty dark which makes them hard to see through even on a sunny day, which negates the point in my opinion.

long story short: Does anyone know how i'd be able to get a replica part made to match, but in a colourless clear material? Apparently they don't exist...

I currently have no idea where I'd go to ask. I'm yet to find out about durability, expense and safety.

    The part in blue:

there are some clear bodyparts for sale, ready to be painted, just not for the buells.

Yes - Eagle Screens may be able to replicate it for you.

You need to make a mould of the the thing from underneath, and use (hopefully) a vacuum moulding process to form the new replica part. Hopefully because if the shape is too complex you then need to look at a $200k die...

Sounds trick! Would be good if they can produce something like that. The good thing with the Buell is that it's a cover over the engine intake/throttle bodies. The fuel is held in the swingarm or fork leg or something yeah?

Let us know what Eagle Screens say!

That's a bit unfortunate - those double bubble screens seem to have some complex moulding and I thought they might be able to do something as it looks reasonably simple (it's just a cover!), with maybe some simplification of the shape if absolutely necessary.

i was told the problem is making the " sharp smooth edges/bends like that" while getting "such a 'deep' shape."
