    Custom Exhausts

Hey there, just wondering if there is anyone on here that has had a custom exhaust made up for their bike and who they used? I have an RC8R 2011 and don't see the value in the best part of 5k for an exhaust. I can tig weld quite well so had thought about just getting the parts bent up an putting it together my self but if there is someone local (Perth) that can do it I'd go that way.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

Paul at Howler did a custom exhaust for me .. he did an awesome job.

    There is also Roo Racing
Some say he eats sidchrome for breakfast

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

All we know is he's Hewie.

if you have the time, equipment, and skills (good thing you can tig), you will be best off making it all yourself. exhaust wholesalers should be able to sell you some stainless 'pipe doughnots', these you will cut up to achieve whatever angle you need then join the straight sections of pipe. simple, and satisfying.

Depends on how free with your money you are, but ebay bypassas the stealerships here and an akra can be had for ~2.2k. QD made a system for roughly whatever 700 english monies translates to IIRC and there is another mob who does some stuff as well, best be is to check over at the RC8 forums here; RC8 Superbike for some info.

KTM RC-8 /RC8R Underbody Exhaust / Quat D Exhaust , QD Exhaust Carbon imports & Accessories Is the QD system for forum sponsors Carbon Imports, 1899 sheckels.

Not sure what your aims are for the new pipe, but if it's more power, prepare to be somewhat disapointed I think, as there is only about a 1hp gain to be had from any of the replacement systems, and in some cases, people lose power, even once the maps are re-done. If it's all about the noise, then go nuts, but again, be prepared for some disapointment as getting it right might take quite some effort.

Good Luck with your project regardless, let us know how it turns out.
