I'm happy with the colour for the VFR, but it maybe worth noting;
The Repsol Blue Levers by Pazzo are VERY Dark Blue..

ASV's appear to be shorter than pazzo's, assuming that is what you have got Insane?

Personally I see no reason there would be any issues with leavers that should cause a problem if you can get a comfortable grip on them but is it legal to replace them with aftermarket or do the cops get a bit anal retentive about it and dish out yellows for them.
Jackerz let us know what you find out is and isn't a good thing for the gixxer. No legal dramas and I might be bashing the credit card yet again

Yeah, Insane has the long-version Pazzo's there, what you have now is the short-version ASV ...

I have some ASVs on order from motomummy.
Will post up some pics, etc when I get them
edit:
Just on the ASVs - which isn't clear here...
They fold.
Not upwards, but forwards.. ie, they're spring loaded and will fold way far fowards if the bike falls over on them...

Thats the same look that Im running at the moment.
Love my ASV's and felt that as I only ever use two fingers on my brake I go the shorty but I like using all four on my clutch, especially at the lights so go the long.
So much better feel over stock, feels like more grip for your hands, better angle, fully adjustable and according to their claims if you can break em theyll replace them no questions asked.
Must remember to take pictures when Im home next.

Got my ASV levers at lunch time. Took about 15 minutes to fit. Pics this evening
The only somewhat tricky bit is on the brake lever, there's a tab... different depending on which bike you're fitting them on, that you need to screw onto the lever to activate the brake light. Piece of piss.
Very happy with them, feel has improved a lot and they look trick
edit:
I went for shorties on both sides, can use 3 fingers on the clutch which is enough for me...

For the price they are, I expect span adjustment on both levers.

Are they unsnappable when you have an off? Because if not, they're not worth the moolah.

The rizoma's are of the folding design.

Just fitted ASV shorties to the gixxer last week. Fitted really easy. feel nice and look the shit. None of this 6 clicks to adjust crap.

Doubt that anyone makes them for a 91 model bike. If the levers off a more modern bike (anything post 200), fit on your bike then you could probably get some, otherwise I'd so no such luck....
$ wise... starting from around US$170, or in the vicinity of $350+ locally.

^^ yeah whs, but its certainly worth checking.
apparently 95 model gixxer 750 levers fit on my 91 rgv (for example)... and levers between 91 rgv and 88 rgv are same i think?
my suggestion would be to get the OEM part number for levers out of honda, find out what models that applies to, and then order levers for one of those models.
levers haven't really changed a *hell* of a lot, other than the switch to radial master cylinders - chances are there are several hondas that share the same levers.

Apparently, the levers of any of the non-radial Hondas are interchangeable.
I'll be finding out for sure when my CBR600F levers arrive for the VFR400...

I got mine from Solomotoparts online. Send them an email. Their customer service is pretty good.
