Front Right fork higher than the left fork?

Bought my R-class bike yesterday, a 2005 GSX1400 from the Honda Shop.

Today a friend pointed out that one of my front forks is alot high than the other as can be seen in the attached photo - the left fork is flush and the right is up by like one inch.

Has this had a different fork replaced, or is it an adjustment, or is it coming through the top? Argh can't work it out.

Will be asking the dealer when I get the tyres replaced during the week, but if anyone could put my mind at ease it would be appreciated!

That looks about 10 mm , thats alot , they should be the same.
Get the dealer to set it up and get them to do it with a smile as payment.
    My 5 cents

    What Shan said
they should be the same check the forks are the same and if the dealer won't do it do it your self not a hard job also be checking that the fork settings are the same and are also correct they should have the factory settings in the hand book then work to your preference from there.

Does the bike track straight if you take your hands off the bars?
Did you perform a REVS check brior to buying? It may have been crashed/repaired.

Really shouldn't affect the handling to much...

    From the manual:

Align the top of the inner tube to the upper surface of the steering stem upper bracket.

Thanks for the responses guys, do you have a PDF copy of the manual 19andrew59?

Didn't check revs, kinda got blindsided by how much I wanted the bike, it's been dropped as there is scratches on the exhaust/tank, so might be a replaced fork, not happy jan.. other than it sticking out the forks look identical, hoping its not like that because it's been bent as suggested - will get the Honda shop to adjust it and hopefully it's all ok..

Revs check shouldn't be necessary when buying from a dealer, but it highlights what a great pre-sale once over they gave the bike, not

just adjust them to the same height. problem solved and takes all of 5 mins.
As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.

Ahh looking at the manual not that simple, it's not the preload adjust, it's the actual fork thats through the steering plate on the right hand side. Will be getting the dealer to make them level. If possible.

    +1

easy job to do yourself. i would do it before riding the bike again, my concern with it being a new bike is that the triple clamp is loose and that fork has slipped through.. noting that with the weight of the bike pushing down on the fork if it is loose it will shift upwards.

You've got a warranty from a dealer anyway, so they should cover it. If it's not something they brought to your attention or you would've reasonably noticed during test drive (probably not, as it didn't track off-line), they're liable anyway.
