I'm looking to buy a 47T rear sprocket to give my lil gpx abit more go, been looking on the net for somewhere to buy one but can't find any whatsoever, I'd like a red coloured one, or if its not too much trouble i'll just paint it myself, has anyone painted a sprocket before? how did ya do it? can anyone give me a hand in finding the sprocket?

edit: Will i need to buy a new chain too?

I changed my front sprocket to a 13 tooth a while back. Not much difference. Got mine from 2 wheel wreakers in osborne park who ordered it in for me. Maybe give them a bell and see if they can sort something out for ya.

I would be interested to hear how ya go.

gpx is known as ex250 in sepo land. might help if your hunting on ebay or international sites

as for colour, if you get an ally sprocket, you can have it annodized. probably cost just as much as the sprocket though

otherwise, spray on primer, wait, spray on colour and away you go.
you dont want to paint the section that comes in contact with the wheel, of the face of the nuts. paint gets worn away and you end up with a loose sprocket

personally i wouldnt bother. the paint on the teeth will come off in 2 seconds and cover your chain/wheel and will look abit funny. your choice though
    Respect is earned, not enforced.

I think a smaller front would be better but try get both smaller front and larger rear! Speedo signal is from the front wheel right? Won't have to worry about the speedo being out (except when you're doing those mad wheelies).

1 tooth down on the front is the go, imho.

You don't lose any top speed, and the bike can pretty much hit redline in 6th.

    Front sprocket = cheaper, too

If your chain is pretty new, you should be able to keep that, too. Not sure if you'll be able to keep the stock chain if you're going up 2-3 teeth on the back (for the same effect), as it might be too short?
