Help! I think my clutch has Sh*t itself. Pics of plates on p5.
During a spirited ride last night, I think my clutch shat itself.
was at a set of lights, waiting for green, in first gear, clutch lever in, lights go green, clutch lever out, throttle on, It stalls. Clutch lever in, start her up again, clutch lever out, throttle on, it stalls. this happens a few more times and I manage to start without the cluth, just with throttle. park her up on the corner of a street somewhere up north (North Beach Rd). A quick sms and the rest of the ride finds me. So.... the symptoms: When the bike isnt running, (just the electrics on) I can change through 1st Neutral and 2nd easily. when the bike is running, in Neutral, it slams into 1st with a lot of force. (Clutch lever in of course) when the bike is running, in Neutral, and I pull the clutch lever in, the clutch basket makes a wirring sound, as if things are rattleing in there. When the bike is in 1st, it wont change up into NEutral, and skips straight to 2nd, with a lot of force. When the bike is in 1st, with the clutch lever in, the bike is pulling forward, as if the clutch is slightly engaging. I was hoping it was a simple cable adjustment, but now im fearing it is something more sinister. any suggestions??? yes it may be because I thrash the bike, I know its most likely the cause, you dont have to remind me. But I stay away from clutching it, most of them are power'd up.

so you've effectively lengthened the cable run at both ends? ie wound the adjusters out away from the levers?
If it's just an adjustment then this should mean that the clutch is permanently "pulled in", ie can click gears with engine running, let clutch out and nothing happens. But for the bike to stall when you let the clutch out sounds a little more sinister... Quote:

ooops fixed. i meant it skips neutral.
Yeah, when it first happened, it stalled a few times. I rode for a few km, trying to alert the rolling corner marker ahead of me but her kept taking off when he saw me so I stopped. when I had stopped, it didnt stall anymore. just the lurching forward when the clutch was in and in 1st gear. and the missing neatral while the engine's running....
