How hot does an exhaust get?

Doing some research into some different methods of heat protection of fairings. What sort of temperature should I be looking at for the stuff to be rated to? 200? 500?

    headers can get red/orange hot = ~900°C
exhaust cans can get hot enough to cause 3rd degree burns from a 1sec brush, so that is 150-180°C

Sory, no other uselss info that may help..
