Indicator flasher relay thingo - changed to different globes

    hi there

okay story goes i've changed the indicators on my bike..

originally it's got a 2 pin relay, which has power for 21 watt globes in front and 23 watt globes in the rear..

i've changed the indicators to smaller ones, and it comes with smaller globes..

i am unable to get smaller globes rated at 21 watts...

i am having problems with getting a relay to suit... at the moment the indicator globes are 5 watt... the original relay doesn't flash the smaller indicators... and changing to a different relay from a different bike allowed the indicators to flash but tooo quickly.

is there anything i can do to fix this? i'd need smaller globes rated to 21 watts (which is impossible to find) or a relay that's rated to 5 watts?? or do i need to modify the relay somehow?

    thanks in advance

add a resistor inbetween the indicators and "different relay" and it'll slow down the indicator flash.

The units for LEDs (most of them) do not use the current to trigger the flash rate, they use a timer. The wattage wont be relevant once you get the right Flasher unit.

But fiddling showed last wire wasn't needed

We have our wires crossed.... I was talking about the internal workings of the different types of flasher unit
