    Interphone F5 volume?

Has anyone got or used the interphone F5 system?

I have both the F4 and the F5 systems. The later seems to have a lower maximum volume when im connected to two other riders. Its rather faint and hard to hear? The F4 system intercom was awesome but this new F5 is rather hard to hear. I've read the manual and can't seem to find anything about volume control or a good reason as to why its so quite. I've also looked for the software upgrades but can't seem to find anything on the net for the F5 unit?

    Any help please?

To save me reading a million irrelevent posts please dont compare this unit to the scala or other brands - thats already been done in other threads! Just intersted in the F5 unit here! KK Thanks

    interphone F5 volume?

Pulse the + button until sweet cheeks says "maximum volume reached". If the volume level is still too weak, you have one of two problems. One your hearing is shot, get a hearing aid. Second, the bike/helmet are too noisy. If you have to wear hearing protection, the unit can not compete or over power the racket. Better yet, check the torque on the nut behind the steering wheel. I've found that the sound level at max, hurts. Each function must have the volume adjusted. The unit will remember the setting. The next time that you come back to that function, the volume will be like you left it. Sterio audio, wow, I'm on a bike, not in a cage.

Speaker positioning can be crucial, ESPECIALLY with BT headsets as they try to sve battery power, SO make sure the speaker/s are as close to your ear opening as possible. 10mm up/ down/ out will halve the volume you hear

Three way intercom w/ Interphone F5, F4, and Interphone

Joy to the World, all you boys and girls . . .
I just paired up my interphone F5 with my F4 and old Interphone. Then using the F5 as the mother, all three were put into group chat. I was so surprised, that I did it three times to make sure there were no flukes. O K , so the F5 does more than the manual says. Three way intercom with Cellularline Interphone, F4, and F5 is doable.

Thanks. I have the volume set to MAX and when old sweet cheeks says"maximum volume reached" it sounds great. The probelem i am having is when im riding i can barely hear the other riders and they can barely hear me.

Its rather strange because all visors are down and all units have MAX volume set? The speakers have been positioned perfectly right next to the ear. I even had them touching my ear but still the volume is not very good. Its not like we are riding loud motorcycles because even on a stock 2011 cbr250 we can barely hear???

I really know nothing of the units... only recently been put on to them when looking at a scala unit the otherday.

All i can think regarding intercom volume... where are the mic's located. A full face helmet needs a corded mic positioned in the chin bar, not a boom mic obviously...

    interphone F5 volume loss

[QUOTE=SMURF22;2525904]Also, i have tried searching for software upgrades via USB to download but cant find anything available on the net
Assume can be a nasty thing. First, you have to put all the cards out on the table.
The F5 has an automatic volume control that adjusts the volume to suit the environment. On my unit I did not set the volume for the FM radio properly. When I ride the bike, the volume comes up to a pleasant level. It sounds so good that I forget to "set" the volume and the next time I use the FM radio, it plays the game over.
I have a friend that when he starts his bike, the intercom is swamped by the bike engine noise. His helmet is an old one that does not have all the noise protection that the new ones have. So all the engine noise comes up into the helmet. He wears hearing protection, DA whats the problem? Another friend has a bad glue joint between her mic and helmet (full face). When the mic falls down, the wind noise wipes out the intercom. When she shoves it back up, the intercom comes back.
You will have to keep up the swap parts game to isolate your problem. If someone else has the F5, swap modules and see it the problem follows your unit. If so, sent it in for warranty. If the problem stays with your helmet and bike, try swappping the speaker/ mic unit from your helmet.
If the problem still stays with your helmet/ bike, Try another helmet. By now you should qualify to be an auto mechanic swapping parts and all.
If you solve the problem, you will be ready for the next big go.
    Good Luck,

ive had no issues with my f5 so far. great volume and clarity, although i have not yet paired it to another (have the dual but waiting for a mate to get back from FIFO).
i have made a few phone calls tho and seem fine. i turned the auto volume off for a while but found when 'old sweet cheeks' said anything to me if was absurdly loud, so i turned it back on again and its much better! good luck
