    K7 600 clutch issues

    Hey all,

Replaced the clutch in my K7 GSXR 600 last night and have been having issues with it since. I removed the whole stack and set the tolerances as listed in the manual. Issue is that the clutch is binding when pulled in and when RPM is applied the clutch slips under any heavy load situation even when fully off the clutch. I pulled it apart twice and double checked everything again the workshop manual but no dice. Any assistance or suggestions are welcome!

Ps. Replaced with EBC clutch plates and upgraded HD springs.

    Cheers in advance

    Regards,
    Marc

Not sure about the binding but when we replaced mine on the K7 750 it was slipping under hard acceleration. Turned out we had the 3 slipper adjusting screws just a fraction to far in. I can email you an idiots adjusting sheet for doing it without the Suzuki tool. Never had a problem since.

I adjusted the 3 slipper pins to the .2 tollerance level as it mentions using a feeler gauge, is that what you mean? The 3 pins are the ones on the front of the clutch basket and can be accessed using the inspection hole?

Yea thats the one but when we did mine as best we could with a feeler gauge it was slipping under gas. The idiot way is turn all 3 in till they seat ( very lightly so they just touch ) then wind out 2 1/4 turns. Never slipped after doing it this way. If you want more slip don't wind it out so far if you want less out of the slipper wind them out a little further. If you don't wind it out enough it will slip under hard accelaration.

Adjust the centre adjuster to whatever the manual says before adjusting the lifter pins.
